Notes from the December 2018 SQLOrlando Meetup

  • 19 attendees out of 44 registered
  • SQLGrease sponsored
  • Solid hour of networking before the meeting started, managed to get everyone talking to someone
  • 2 presentations, one on performance tuning by Franklin Yamamoto, one on DBATools.IO by William Durkin delivered remotely at 2am his time (incredible on a lot of levels)
  • In between the presentations we had a holiday dinner of turkey, stuffing etc (read the directions – turns out the gravy container was not microwave safe) from Publix. Michael Kavanagh from SQLGrease did most of the heating and serving the food – thanks!)
  • Next evening meetup is Feb 20, content not yet set
  • Need a webcam for next remote presentation
  • Really good meeting
