ONETUG (the Orlando .Net Users Group) sent out invitations over the weekend for a Nerd Dinner. I’m not sure it’s the best name – though maybe accurate! – but I like the concept, and I like that there is a central site for managing these events. It’s at the food court at the Millenia Mall here in Orlando on Thursday, April 14, starting at 7 pm. Hoping to attend, but have previous commitments so we’ll see.

I’ve long wanted to do something more networking and less technical for the SQL scene and we’ve talked here and there about dinners, the hard part is that most of the time (short of being at a conference) it tends to the same people that attend. Fun, but not quite the networking I had in mind. Scoping it a lot wider maybe makes sense. More of a dinner party, maybe harder to target people that you want to meet but didn’t know you wanted to meet them.
