I saw Wes Brown at SQLSaturday #63 but missed his presentation on solid state drives, so I’m looking forward to his one hour online presentation this week (the first of three), beginning at 3 pm on Wednesday. Details here. Wes and I go way back, maybe to 2002 or 2003? We met at the PASS Summit and until recently we’d only see each other once a year, that’s starting to change now with SQLSaturday.

Of course as far as storage goes I’m looking forward to the day I can not worry about space or speed, that problem should belong to the storage person. Until then it’s useful, sometimes important, always interesting to learn more about how storage works so you can make the most of what you have, and buy the right thing when you need more.
